Every hiking season, I climb a previously scaled 14er to check the condition of my
legs and lungs. This year, I intended to do Mt. Bierstadt again but part way up the road to Guanella Pass I discovered construction had closed
the road. I back tracked and headed up I-70 to the trailhead for Grays and Torreys Peaks. I had hiked Grays twice before - once continuing over
to Torreys Peak.
Finally at the top! Needed to rest my legs and enjoy my peanut and butter sandwich. The views from the top of 14ers
is so awesome - and it is a 360 degree panorama. Something you just cannot capture in an image. You need to be there to
experience the true sensation. If you have never been on top of a mountain, you need to do it at least once in your life.
