Saturday morning - February 20, 2010 - Snow was in the forecast and the skies were hazy with poor visibility. Instead
of heading for the mountains, I decided to head for downtown Denver. Little traffic and fewer people this early on a Saturday morning - just the people clearing the sidewalks
of the little snow we did have overnight.
Outside the main entrance to Coors Field stands 'The Player' - cold and snow covered on this morning. It stands as a tribute to Branch Rickey. Commissioned by
the Denver Rotary Club, the bronze statue has the names of the annual Major League players awarded the Branch Rickey Award for
execptional community service.
