Sapling at Lakes Edge

      sapling at lakes edge
The hike, no make that the stroll, around Sprague Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park was so relaxing - even in the cold November air. The round trip is 0.85 miles with a total elevation gain of 25 feet - so really, this is a flat trail with wonderful views. The trail is well-maintained and wheel-chair accessible.

About 1/4 way around the lake, we came upon this lone sapling at the water's edge - silhouetted against the frozen lake - a little giant with a will to survive. There are many opportunities for pictures at Sprague Lake and even more places to sit and reflect.
