Roxborough State Park, located southweat of Denver, is famous for its beautiful red rocks thrusting themselves up from the ground. Above is one of the many scenes greeting you as you enter the park. This early May overcast day gave me this shot just before snow started to fall. Only in Colorado!

Roxborough is a geologic dream. The red sandstone Paleozoic age formation on the west side is one of three distinct hogbacks visible in the park. A Permian age Lyons Sandstone hogback goes down the center of the park. A Cretaceous age Dakota Sandstone hogback is on the east side.
