      pueblo along the trail
Mesa Verde, Spanish for ‘Green Table’, was a flourishing community from AD 600 through AD 1300. These cliff dwellings actually represent the last 75 to 100 years of occupation.

As I returned from viewing the petroglyphs, I had a chance to go into an unnamed pueblo (another name for the cliff dwellings, Spanish for ‘home’). I stepped into the rooms, sat on the wall and tried to imagine the lives that were here. It was a unique experience. I rested here for quite a while before continuing on my ventures.
