June 5th, 2010 was a great day to take a trip to any of the national parks in Colorado - the admission was free for the weekend. Yeah! My friend Sequoia and I got an early start on this bright and windy day. The drive to the summit of Mt Evans is truly a magnificent journey and one you need to make sure the driver is paying attention to the task at hand and not gazing around.

Their wonderful vistas at every turn - and there are many of them - and along the narrow roads with steep drop-offs. And just when you don't expect it, out pops a plump marmot or a family of mountain goats that look at you wondering what you are doing in their home. This is truly an experience everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
