On a two day, 854 mile road trip over the Memorial Day weekend in 2010, I traveled from Denver to the
western slopes of the Rockies, visited Telluride before settling into Cortez for the night. The Mesa Verde National Park and the world famouns cliff dwellings
awaited me the next morning. However, the trip to Cortez was such a beautiful, scenic drive.
Back on the paved road again and heading to Cortez I had to stop once more. The sun playing with the Aspens was something I had to try to capture. I saw colors
like this all along my trip. Looking at the image now just doesn’t show the scope of what I had in front of me. Oh well, that seems to always be an issue,
especially when trying to capture something this beautiful.
