On a two day, 854 mile road trip over the Memorial Day weekend in 2010, I traveled from Denver to the
western slopes of the Rockies, visited Telluride before settling into Cortez for the night. The Mesa Verde National Park and the world famouns cliff dwellings
awaited me the next morning. However, the trip to Cortez was such a beautiful, scenic drive.
I drove about a mile up the dirt road, emerging to a high mountain plateau. Surprisingly, there were huge ranches up there. It was amazing to me that no
matter where I looked the view was amazing and it was so quiet. The interlocking log fence kept drawing my eyes to it so I had to get one more picture of this area.
