On an early winter morning, I braved the 8 degree temps to setup at the Blue Mesa Reservoir
shoreline in hopes of capturing an interesting sunrise. I was shivering by the time some color started to paint the skies. But it wasn't until I turned
around, to head for my Jeep and some much-needed warmth, that I saw this beautiful scene.
Blue Mesa Reservoir is Colorado's largest body of water - located in the Curecanti National Recreation Area outside of Gunnison. The reservoir sits
at 7,519' in elevation. It is also the largest Kokanee Salmon fishery in the United States.
